Executive and Management Role

As CFO, I was responsible for building and managing the firm's financial and operational infrastructure during a period of rapid growth. The firm expanded from approximately 10 to more than 100 attorneys, including operations in multiple jurisdictions.

My responsibilities included:

• Establishing and leading the firm's finance function, including payment flows, management accounting, statutory bookkeeping, and taxation;
• Advising equity partners on financial performance, profitability, and risk implications of strategic and operational decisions;
• Participating in the firm's international expansion.

Legal and Advisory Role

In parallel, I acted as Senior Counsel on complex legal and advisory matters, drawing on my prior experience in leading international law firms. My work included advising on transactions, restructurings, investigations, and other business matters, with particular focus from 2022 onward on issues relating to the management and preservation of both Russian-owned foreign assets and foreign-owned Russian assets within applicable legal, regulatory and sanctions frameworks.

Transactions and Structuring

• Structuring inbound and outbound investment projects;
• Advising on corporate structuring and restructuring;
• Supporting mergers and acquisitions, including negotiation of transaction documentation governed by English law.

Cross-border Operations and Trade

• Advising on foreign trade operations and cross-border transactions;
• Supporting transactions involving financing, supply chains, services and intellectual property;
• Advising on profit distribution within international groups.

Disputes, Investigations, and Risk Management Matters

• Supporting domestic and international dispute resolution, investigations, and related risk management work, with a focus on financial, accounting, and structural issues.

Private Clients and Asset Structuring

• Advising private clients on wealth structuring, succession, and personal asset planning.

Project Leadership and Coordination

• Building and managing project teams and maintaining direct client relationships;
• Acting as a central coordination point for multi-jurisdictional matters, including managing and integrating advice from foreign counsel and professional experts worldwide.
